Frequently asked questions

  • The entire process typically takes around 1-3 months. However, once your build is booked, most projects are built within 2-3 days.

    Here’s how the process works:

    1. Consultation
We’ll kick things off with a consultation where we’ll discuss your pool project, go over your site requirements, and develop a personalised quote.

    2. Planning & Approvals
Once you're happy to move forward, we’ll start planning and secure all the necessary approvals.

    3. Pool Installation
With approvals in place, we’ll set your installation date. The fun part begins! We’ll excavate the site, crane in your pool, and complete the plumbing and concreting around it. This part is usually completed in 2-3 days.

    4. Handover & Maintenance
Now the fun begins! The pool is ready for swimming and we’ll handover to you for ongoing maintenance.

  • The cost of building a pool depends on a few factors, including:

    • the size of the pool

    • the type of ground we're working with

    • How easily we can access your backyard (if rear or side access is possible, or crane or helicopter access is required)

    • Additional features you'd like to include, such as a separate spa, pool heating, or a water feature.

As a rough guide, most pools range from approximately $8,000 - $10,000 per metre, with most projects typically falling between $45k – $100k.

This price generally covers the excavation of your site, assistance with planning and approvals, craning in the pool, concreting the pool coping, and installation of the plumbing and equipment needed to run the pool.

Having a pool installed can add significant value to your property. For every dollar you invest in building a pool, you can expect to see $2 – $3 in added property value when it comes time for sale or valuation. So, it’s an investment that pays off in the long run.

  • Our team will look after everything from design and government approvals, through to the final build.

  • Get in touch with our team and we are happy to advise you. We will check for any easements, powerlines or restrictions that may impact on the positioning of your pool.

Our team can also provide you with advice if you are planning to purchase a block of land and would like to know if it’s suitable for a pool.

Since what’s underground can be hard to predict, we’re fully equipped with the right machinery to handle any challenges that come up. If rock is encountered, we’ve got equipment on hand to efficiently break down and excavate rock, ensuring your pool installation moves ahead smoothly.

  • We specialise in building pools and do not offer ongoing maintenance services, however, we can refer you to other trusted businesses within our network.

  • While it can get quite cold in the Canberra region, heating technology has advanced, meaning your pool can be enjoyed year-round.

We can combine heating systems such as solar heating, electric heat pumps, and gas heating to keep your pool comfortable. In most cases it can be heated all year round (yep, even through the Canberra winter!).

The average heating cost is around $3 to $5 per day to heat your pool with one of our super-efficient electric heat pumps.

  • Masterbuilt offers a lifetime warranty on their pool shell. This is combined with all your standard construction industry warranty periods, which are through ACT Pools as your builder.

  • If your property does not have rear or side access, there are a few options we can explore.

In most situations, we can organise a crane to drop the pool over your house and into position.

If this is not possible due to trees or other obstructions, we may be able to use a helicopter to lower the pool into position.

Get in touch and we can discuss potential solutions.
